Round House Podiatry – a Spring refresh

Round House Podiatry

Spring refresh – Who we are. What we do, where we are, how we help.

Spring is almost upon us, and our clinic is undergoing refurbishment. So, we thought now would be a great time to give you all a refresh about what Round House Podiatry is all about.

Who we are.

Round House Podiatry was taken over by me, Anna Conway, in 2008. After 8 years of working full-time in the NHS, mostly specialising in Diabetic foot care and Wound Care, I decided a change of scene was needed. At first, after reducing my hours, I split my working week between my NHS job, and two days a week at the Round House. In 2016, I took voluntary redundancy from my NHS post, and concentrated my full week on the Round House. In 2011, I also went back to university to start my Postgraduate Diploma in Advancing Clinical Practice.

My areas of special interest in Podiatry include Diabetic footcare, general Podiatry treatments, Dermatology, and cosmetic Podiatry treatments, alongside using Swift Microwave Verruca treatment since 2017.

In 2019, my colleague from my NHS days, Nicola Woodhead (Nikki) also left the NHS and joined me at the Round House 4 days a week. She also shares a special interest in Diabetic and Vascular foot care, having worked alongside the Vascular and Diabetes consultants at HRI, and general podiatry treatments.

What we do

At Round House Podiatry, we offer mainly general Podiatry treatments, for skin, nail and minor musculoskeletal problems. We offer specialist Verruca treatments with Swift, which uses heat to help initiate an immune response to the virus which causes verrucae.

We do not offer in-depth musculoskeletal assessments and prescription orthotics at our clinic, as due to space limitations, we are unable to offer gait analysis. We do, however, work alongside other local Podiatrists with a special interest in musculoskeletal treatments, who we are happy to signpost people to, should you require this type of treatment.

Where we are

We are based in Kirkburton, around 4 miles outside of Huddersfield, in a historic little building named “The Round House”. Our clinic is easily accessible by car and public transport, and directions are available on our website.

How we help

During your appointment, we will assess your Podiatric needs, and tailor a treatment plan to help resolve any foot-related issues you may be experiencing. This may involve hands-on treatments, written and verbal healthcare advice, and we also stock a wide range of footcare products for you to use at home to help keep your feet happy and healthy.

If you think we are the right fit to help you, you can book an appointment online here.
